In many countries  national

dress reflects its historical roots and global interactions. The colors, patterns used in the national dress often convey stories about the land, its resources, climate ,and the lifestyles of its inhabitants .overall the national dress is more than just clothing, it’s a living representation of history, culture and identity that continues to evolve  while maintaining a link to the past.

Thus, we bhutanese have ‘Gho’ and ‘Kira’ as our national dress. There are    some identified places where we need to wear ‘Gho’ and ‘Kira’. If we want to visit those places without our national dress we are prohabitat.

THREE PLACES WHERE GHO IS NEEDED


1.IN DZONGS


In all twenty dzongkhags, wearing ‘Gho’ and ‘Kira’ in the Dzong is a way for bhutanese people to honor their heritage, show respect for tradition, foster unity and connect with their spirituality. It is a practice that promotes cultural and spiritual values.





 


2.DURING THE FESTIVALS


Any festival be it in dzong or in lhakhangs we have to wear ‘Gho’ and ‘Kira’ because it represents cultural and symbolic importance.Without ‘Gho’ and ‘Kira’ we are not allowed to enter the ground and could not witness the festivals. During that time different people wore distinct gho and kira  of their choice and came to witness the event. Everyone will be looking gorgeous and tidy in their dress. Festival is one of the greatest ways to gather mass people together and interact with each other.Many gents they witness festivals during the day time and play gamlings during the night.Installments of gambling  leads to create many problems between youngsters,sometimes it leads to killing peoples.





3.IN THE SCHOOL

The wearing of ‘Gho’ and ‘Kira’ in schools in Bhutan is rooted in the country’s cultural and traditional values.The dress serves as national dress of the people in Bhutan and is worn for various occasions, including schools. Dress is worn mainly in the schools for cultural identity and preservation,respect for tradition, uniformity and national pride. Wearing gho and kira in the school makes youngstars perfect in shaping their dress and also come to know the values of their dress.Thus, every school in the twenty dzongkhag, students should wear gho and kira from monday to till friday. Our national dress ‘gho’ is one of the biggest pockets in the world, it starts from the left, ends right . We can put everything including phones,files,laptops, wallets and so on. Some people used their pockets for their babies to sleep. When it comes to students they used pockets for their stationary to keep.
